The first phylogenetic tree appeared in
"First Notebook on Transmutation of Species" (Darwin 1837).
Whether the origin of species can be explained
by the Evolutionary Theory is still under debate;
a species (a group of organisms that can interbrid
with each other/ in a population concept) can, undoubtedly,
be changed intrinsically (difference of alleles frequencies
in the gene pool between generations) in response to
selection pressure (natural or sexual selection)
and through random processes (drift/ sampling error).
